Research Study for Govt of India on Tuberculosis Treatment Adherence
The government, under RNTCP (revised national TB control program), is running a comprehensive program in Uttar Pradesh for diagnosis and treatment of Tuberculosis. The Progressive Foundation is working with the government to conduct a research work to identify ways that can make RNTCP more effective than it has been. The main objective of our proposed comparative research study is to achieve increased rate of adherence to medication amongst TB patients through technological intervention in the current system. It involves technology enabled real time tracking and monitoring of administered TB patients in the state. The Progressive Foundation team, with its technology partners, developed an application and web portal (tbmcure) to capture drug regime of every patient in the study and monitor his drug adherence.
